Membership subscriptions are payable annually in advance and run from January 1st to December 31st each year.The Society also offers a second category of Nursery Membership for Clematis Nurseries and related commercial organizations. When you join the Society you receive:
Note that for a very modest additional sum you can receive a copy of the latest journal instead of an older issue - please see below for details.
- a complimentary copy of an old Journal (issue depends on availability and is at the discretion of the Society)
- the last newsletter and seed list (if relevant),
- the latest Membership List for contacting Members,
- information about Council Officers and Members,
- a copy of the Society's Constitution.

Membership Rates
The current annual membership fee is 30 EUROS, for one or two people living at the same address. Nursery Membership is 50 EUROS annually.
Being an international society, we are very aware of the difficulties that potential members in some countries around the world may have in paying small sums of money in a non-local currency. To facilitate membership for everyone, wherever they live, the Society offers a number of alternative methods for paying your membership fee. The Table below shows the annual membership in the range of currencies accepted by the Society.

Please note that by using PayPal, both you and the Society will receive the benefit of the exchange rate applicable on the day of payment.
Methods of Payment
The primary methods of payment to the Society are via the Euro Bank Account, the Pound Sterling Bank Account and the PayPal account, as described below.
For payment in Euros
The Society Euro Account is held in the Netherlands. Bank to bank transfers between mainland European banks are fast and economic.
For security reasons the Society does not publish details of any bank account on this website. They were provided to all members with their Membership Status and Renewal slip. They can also be provided to any member on request.
If you use this method, please make sure you pay any bank charges.
For new members, pay 45 Euros for Ordinary Membership for 2012 and you will receive a copy of Clematis International 2011 (instead of the complimentary issue of our choice).
Cheques should not be sent as they are very expensive to process.
For payment in Pounds Sterling
The Society Pounds Sterling Account is in Great Britain. You may pay in Pounds Sterling either by online or telephone banking or by cheque or Money Order.
For security reasons the Society does not publish details of any bank account on this website. They were provided to all members with their Membership Status and Renewal slip. They can also be provided to any member on request. With these you can make a payment using online or telephone banking.
Cheques or International Money Orders should be made payable to "International Clematis Society" and sent to: Michael Warren, I.Cl.S., 169 Valley Road, Ipswich, IP1 4PJ, GREAT BRITAIN. Cheques / International Money Orders must be in Pounds Sterling and drawn on a bank with a UK branch.
For new members, pay £38.00 for Ordinary Membership for 2012 and you will receive a copy of Clematis International 2011 (instead of the complimentary issue of our choice).

Payment in US Dollars
Richard Huff has stepped down as the US Membership Secretary. It is suggested that members wishing to pay in US dollars should use PayPal, possibly asking a friend to help. If this is not possible, please contact the Secretary, Fiona Woolfenden.

Bank Notes
USD, GBP and EURO bank notes may be sent to the Secretary, Fiona Woolfenden. As a precaution it is suggested that they are sandwiched between two pieces of card and/or thin aluminium cooking foil. You should be aware, though, that there is a potential security risk with this method and the Society cannot be held responsible for any loss incurred in transit.
Downloadable Membership Leaflets/Forms
Our Membership leaflets are currently being rewritten and the full range will be available as soon as this is completed. For the moment we have Membership Leaflets/Forms available in Dutch, English and German, which you can download by clicking on the appropriate button. They are all in Adobe Acrobat format, for which there is a free reader available from the Adobe website.
Please note, the language of the Society and all official publications and communications is English.
